Dean of Economics Department of MSU: ‘Ruben Vardanyan is a graduate who makes us proud’

In his interview to Sofiko Shevardnadze, Alexander Auzan, Doctor of Economic Sciences and Dean of the Economics Department of Moscow State University, called philanthropist Ruben Vardanyan a graduate who makes the university very proud.

“He [Vardanyan] launched a plethora of social and charitable projects. Let me share a story he once told himself. When his photo appeared on the cover of Forbes magazine, he and his wife [Veronika Zonabend] decided it was time to talk to their son, who was 14 years old at the time. Sitting in front of him, they said, ‘You know, we won’t leave you this money. There are so many projects that need to be carried out. We will spend our money there.’ This, to which their son cleverly replied, ‘I get it. Just don’t leave me with any debts’,” Alexander Auzan said.
