KP: Ruben Vardanyan fostered a new type of entrepreneurs in modern Russia
Komsomolskaya Pravda has studied the changes in Russian education that have taken place over the last 20 years. According to journalists, in recent years, the state has been striving to increase its graduates’ competitiveness and to focus education on the real needs of the economy. For this reason, major businesses are increasingly cooperating with higher educational facilities.
The authors of the article note that back in the mid-nineties, large companies did not pursue a responsible approach to education. But then philanthropist Ruben Vardanyan took on training qualified entrepreneurs of a new type. In 2006, he and his partners launched the Skolkovo School of Management, bringing together founders of major companies and sponsors from important sectors of the economy. In 2009, Vardanyan and his wife Veronika Zonabend established the Scholae Mundi charitable foundation. His Surpass Dreams scholarship program helps Russian finance students to receive a high-quality education as well as jobs in top Russian companies.
