Mane Tandilian has asked Donald Trump to help release Armenians held in Azerbaijan

Mane Tandilian, a well-known politician and co-founder of the “Country for Life” party, has sent a letter to Donald Trump, the US President, with a request to release Armenian political prisoners who are illegally detained in Baku prisons. Among them are Ruben Vardanian, the social entrepreneur and philanthropist, whose trial has been ongoing since the beginning of the year.

In her letter, Tandilian recalled Trump’s statement at a meeting with Nikol Pashinian, the Armenian Prime Minister, in Washington. Then it was about 23 Armenians who are illegally detained in Azerbaijan.

Tandilian has expressed confidence that Trump’s authority and his previous position on ethnic purges and the protection of Christians could contribute to their early release.
