Pashinyan: ‘Releasing Armenian prisoners is a discussion point in negotiations with Baku’

Returning Armenian prisoners from the Baku prison is continuously on Yerevan’s agenda in negotiations with Azerbaijan. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this when speaking at the parliament.

“We are raising the issue at the negotiation table again and again,” Armenia Today quoted the politician.

Pashinyan added that the prisoner problem involves a “very large emotional aspect.” The prime minister promised that, if necessary, the release of social entrepreneur Ruben Vardanyan and other former Artsakh leaders would be pursued in the UN International Court of Justice on the grounds of the Convention Against the Taking of Hostages.
